Contents:

Besides integrating legally separate companies, a major concern of Supply Chain Management is to coordinate and optimize the flow of material and information within a production-distribution network. This task "Supply Chain Planning" (SCP) can be supported by modern decision support systems, so-called "Advanced Planning Systems" (APS), being offered by software vendors like AspenTech, JDA, Oracle or SAP (Advanced Planner and Optimizer). In the course the basics of SCP and concepts of APS will be discussed.
